Small British bicycle brand Dot Motorcycles opened the covers of two Kawasaki Power Retro 650 Twins on Motorcycle Live.

The sporty-looking Reed Racer and the scrambler-style Dot Demon were customized in Greater Manchester and developed jointly with Guy Martin, who tested the bikes before launch.

Both use Kawasaki's Euro5 compliant Z650 liquid-cooled 649cc four-stroke parallel dual motor, and produce a claimed 67.3bhp and 47.2lb.ft at 8000rpm and 6700rpm. They are installed in a steel grid welded by TIG and have the same curb weight of 169 kg and a small 10-liter fuel tank.

The biggest difference between the two bikes is their riding posture. Reed Racer provides a more bent and focused experience, while Dot Demon allows the rider to sit straighter. The latter also has a slightly heavier support in the chassis to cope with some slight disturbances.

"We have CNC machines, we have autoclaves, so we can manufacture all the parts in-house," Dot's Dr. Anthony Keating told MCN. "Customers can have any color they want."

Both bikes are equipped with dual 300mm front discs and four-piston Brembo calipers, and a single-disc Brembo at the rear. Bosch ABS is standard equipment.

There is also an adjustable 40mm Showa fork and a single shock absorber, which can bounce according to the rider's weight before delivery.

Of course, custom construction and high-quality chassis components are not cheap, as Dr. Keating explained: “Scramblers start at £18,500, while cafe racers start at £21,000. We can’t make bikes below this price. Because everything is made in Britain."

Despite the high prices, Dot stated that they had already accepted orders on the first weekend of the NEC show, and the first batch of customer bicycles arrived at the end of February or early March.

The naked Reed Racer is named after the company's founder Harry Reed, who won the TT in 1908 in a Dot. The company is currently developing an electric motorcycle and will join the product line next.
